Tucked away in the rolling hills of rural Virginia, with the Blue Ridge Mountains silhouetted in the distance, Tranquility Farm felt like it had been plucked straight from a country fairytale. On a crisp November day, the gravel path crunched under the boots of guests making their way past the beautifully preserved barn, strings of Edison lights already twinkling against the open sky.
Kelcie, barefoot beneath her lace gown, waited behind the tall purple fountain grass as her childhood friend – and now groom – AC stood at the alter beneath a handmade wooden arbor wrapped in ivy and wildflowers. Horses were frolicking fondly in the distance, and the scent of hay and apple cider filled the air.
Their love story had started ten years ago at a summer bonfire just down the road. Now, with hay bales for pews and mason jars full of sweet tea and bourbon, their worlds came full circle. As Kelcie walked down the aisle, escorted by her golden retriever, Duke, the small crowd let out a collective breath.
Vows were exchanged as the sun dipped low, turning the sky into fiery hues of orange and red. After the kiss, guests moved to the barn where twinkle lights danced across the rafters and long farmhouse tables were set with wildflower centerpieces. Dinner was hearty and guests dined on smoked brisket, cornbread and peach cobbler. A bluegrass band played into the night, and the couple shared their first dance under a sky full of stars. No spotlight, no stage – just music in the air, and the kind of love that made the whole world quiet.
The newlyweds slipped away into the farm’s silo, now converted into a cozy tattoo nook. AC embraced a forever inscription, tattooing Kelcie’s name on his ring finger. By the end of the night, Kelcie’s dress was dusted with dirt and laughter, and AC’s shirt was untucked and stained with red wine – but neither of them noticed. They were too busy spinning in the middle of the dance floor, lost in a moment that felt entirely theirs.
Kelcie and AC had chosen Tranquility Farm for its timeless charm – a beautiful property comprising of scenic vineyards, bride and groom manors, the classic bank barn, and of course the private silo. But mostly, they chose it because it felt like home. Tranquility Farm was more than just a venue, it’s a place with soul. They didn’t need a castle or a ballroom. They had each other and the night.
