What's in Meaghan Mooney's Beauty Cabinet

A busy DC health reporter proves there's always time for fun and fitness.

Scrutiny is Meaghan Mooney’s watchword. After all, she spends her days on live television as a beauty expert and lifestyle correspondent for CBS affiliate WUSA9. “I focus on physical activity, nutrition and a good skincare routine, all of which end up playing significant roles in my beauty philosophy and maintaining a healthy appearance,” she says. “I get into researching ingredients and, in some instances, turning to homeopathic remedies. So this job has made me more curious to read and research all hair and beauty-product ingredients.” The payoff daily? The camera doesn’t lie.

“I love Kathyana at Bang Salon . She’s fast and always delivers. It’s hard work finding the right stylist!”

“For me, facials are only about 20 percent relaxing. I need someone who I can trust to extract and zap my problem skin. I found that at TuSuva.”

“I’ll go to Beefsteak—José Andrés’ fast-casual spot—for [great] veggies and grains, and it has a homemade [faux] sausage
that’s so yummy!”

“I love the hot-power yoga class at CorePower, especially when the instructor focuses on alignment and the room is wicked hot.”
