District Cannabis’ DC facility is proud to employ a staff comprised of over 65% female identifying employees, with 75% representation of women and non-binary folx at the management level. Diversity is a pillar of our company’s success, and as a health and education based business, we are conscious of the ways cannabis impacts people from many different identities and experiences. Too often, women's health is overlooked or invalidated, and this is true for trans and non-binary communities as well.
Many experiences that are considered a "rite of passage" or a fact of life, like childbirth, breastfeeding, hormone therapy, and menstruation can be painful, emotional, or distressing to the body. And many diseases that are often over-medicalized, overlooked, or misdiagnosed, like endometriosis or breast cancer, can make it feel like your own body is betraying you.
Fortunately, cannabis products are helpful at alleviating many of those discomforts and we are proud to offer a full line of products with women and non-binary folx in mind.
CBD Specific:
One major differentiating factor between District Cannabis’ CBD products and those from other brands is that the CBD used in our products is extracted from in-house grown strain Charlotte’s Web x Harle-Tsu. The cannabis plant is a bioaccumulator, meaning it takes up pesticides and chemicals from the medium it is grown in. Utilizing commercial agriculture practices in large scale outdoor hemp crops can lead to a product that is less than pure. This is why we have chosen to grow our own CBD, applying the same stringent quality and sanitation practices that we use for the rest of our flowers to ensure a clean, consistent concentrate that we are proud to put our name on.
