Washington Ballet's Dan Roberge Embraces Classic Americana in His Wardrobe

Dan Roberge might be asked if he’s from Texas; after all, he’s often seen donning black jeans and a cowboy hat and boots. “Oh, I’m from a place a little south of there—Australia,” says the dancer for The Washington Ballet. Soon, Roberge leads a tour de force production of Swan Lake at the Kennedy Center. “It’s so important to express my artistry, athleticism and creativity every single day,” he says. “Whether it’s through the process of creation or striving to perfect a masterwork, my life is continually exciting, challenging and exhausting at the same time—I’m thankful for it all.”

In three words, I would describe my style as classic, vintage, Americana. You’ll find me on weekends rummaging around Meeps and Mercedes Bien (@‌mercedesbienvintage).

In the next year, I hope to continue to travel the world and meet new people who invigorate and inspire me—and learn a second language.

I get my hair cut by Michael Hodges, owner of Logan 14.

I work out at least three or four times a week at Mint in Adams Morgan. Cross-training is key for improving stamina and injury prevention.

I am most confident when I wear my Schott Brothers leather jacket; I have a few and love them.
