Staying safe and looking great are integral parts of Somenek + Pittman's plan to help clients right now.
Michael Somenek and Troy Pittman have always been trailblazers in innovation. Whether it's creating a turnkey and luxurious experience for clients or offering the best options for health and beauty, the District-based doctors have pivoted dramatically during the pandemic. The specialists, whose work covers everything from reconstructive surgery to revision rhinoplasty and liquid facelifts, recently discussed virtual consultations with clients.
Q: You're both renowned for exceptional customer care. How do you continue to provide a high level of customer experience virtually?
We strive to really form a true connection with our patients. While this has proved challenging over the past several months, we’ve adapted to offer video consults. The power of face-to-face communication cannot be underestimated and we have evolved to offer that to patients remotely.
Additionally, as plastic surgeons, visually showing someone a potential outcome on their face and body is so vital to understanding what is possible surgically. Because of that, we have invested in the best imaging software in which patients securely submit their photos into our portal before the consultation, allowing us to create a 3D image and perform a “before and after” simulation during the virtual consultation.
To protect patient’s privacy, we use a HIPPA compliant program that allows a safe and protected virtual consultation. Our entire team is still available full-time for questions that patients may have after their consultation.
Q: Is the service for new and existing clients, and how much time do you spend with clients?
We offer this service for both new and existing patients. Depending on the reason for the consultation, we allow as much time as needed to answer all questions and establish a plan that is in line with the patient’s needs.
Q: What can a client expect during a consultation?
Prior to the consultation, patients receive an email with all the necessary information, including a link to enter the virtual consultation room.
At the time of their consultation, we connect virtually through our HIPPA compliant platform. This allows us to speak and see each other, discussing goals and what they are looking to achieve. It also allows us to share our screen and go over the virtual 3D imaging for procedures like rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and other facial and body procedures. The visual component is a very powerful tool for the patient as it provides an accurate simulation of what they can expect after their surgery. It’s really a gamechanger in managing patient expectations.
Once a patient decides to proceed forward, we make an appointment for them to come in for an in-person visit about 2 weeks before the procedure.
Q: Before the virtual consultation, what are some things clients should think about to discuss with you?
Gathering questions that they may have about the procedure is always helpful. This allows us to maximize the time we have during the consultation to make them as comfortable as possible in their journey with us.
Q: You also have a med spa. Before it reopens, what are some tips you recommend for looking and staying healthy as summer arrives?
Just because we are distanced physically, there’s no reason to neglect your skin. Thankfully, we recently launched our online store (www.spmedspa.com) that our patients can visit and purchase their essential skincare products to keep their skin looking its best.
Protecting your skin and wearing a medical grade sunscreen is always a must, especially in the sunnier and warmer months. Staying compliant with your medical grade skincare regimen will hold you over until you can get in for a facial, extraction, or dermalinfusion.
