Sarah Silverman knows how to tell a good story. Her best are navel-gazing romps, even about her childhood. Following its critically acclaimed off-Broadway debut in 2022, Silverman’s The Bedwetter—based on the comedian’s bestselling memoir—returns to the stage with a revamped book and new music and lyrics. It’s directed by Tony nominee Anne Kauffman. The production follows 10-year-old Sarah (Aria Kane) grappling with a parents’ divorce and a new school. Shoshana Bean, who starred as Elphaba in Broadway’s Wicked, plays Silverman’s mother, Beth Ann, with a “rendering that’s absolutely staggering,” says Kauffman.
