First thing you read every morning? When reading beyond CNN, I start with the New York Times homepage and the Drudge Report.
Most memorable interview of your career? I interviewed Joe Biden live on air in Charleston, S.C., for nearly 20 minutes right after he pulled his primary campaign out of New Hampshire and went on to try to save it in South Carolina. It was a critical moment in the campaign—high stakes, especially live.
Your go-to spot for coffee in DC? Zeke’s (zekescoffee.com). I only get to go to the one near my house on weekends, but we exclusively drink Zeke’s coffee at home—they’ll deliver to your house!
Favorite escape from the news cycle? Browsing real estate listings in beautiful, remote places.
Best career advice you’ve ever received, and who gave it to you? Own it. Mika Brzezinski.
Favorite DC restaurant? La Piquette (lapiquettedc.com). It’s so authentic and special.
What’s in your bag that you can’t live without? My AirPods and mascara.
Who’s the most surprising person in your phone contacts? Tony Luke of Tony Luke’s (tonylukes.com) cheesesteaks in Philly.
Historical figure you’d love to interview and the first question you’d ask? Winston Churchill. What’s the difference between a strong man and a weak one?
What’s your guilty pleasure TV show? Emily In Paris. And my husband would never watch it with me.
One thing you wish more people understood about journalism? The lengths journalists go to get it right, how devastating it is when you get something wrong, and how we’re committed to publicly saying when we make a mistake.
