Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese once had tea here. John Legend once tickled the ivories for his beloved Chrissy Teigen here. And Jamie Foxx once took the mic and raised the proverbial roof here. And, now, after a $50 million nip and tuck to the 10-year-old W Washington DC, POV has set its sights on welcoming a new lineup of other celebs, local notables—and you too. The bar and lounge sits pretty atop the 100-year-old building’s roof and was envisioned by interior design firm Studio GAIA and the W’s team. A glass-enclosed rooftop opens in the warmer months and closes in the winter. Floor-to-ceiling windows on the Terrace and windows that open out in the Lounge offer even better panoramas than before. There’s a large-scale mural by Baltimore-based talent Gaia (who has partnered with the hotel in the past) and 120 seats, along with the VIP Monument Corner for privacy when soaking in those scenes. As for the food and drink, Amsterdam-based Cocktail Professor is mixing things up with sips like the Yes We Can draft cocktail, as well as personalized bartenders for exclusive bottle service. There’s plenty to eat as well (try the Hong Kong-style lobster-fried rice). And to keep you entertained? The live music series, global speaker program What She Said and more. Up first: Nina Sky.
