The Cherry Blossom Festival is well underway and the city is celebrating! While peak bloom may be behind us, there are still plenty of fabulous cherry blossom specials at the city’s top hotels and restaurants. From afternoon teas to limited-time menus, we’ve rounded up some of the best cherry blossom specials to take advantage of this season. Gather your crew for a weekend of pink culinary creations and luxurious hotel packages.

Celebrate Japan’s gift to the United States by indulging in dishes inspired by Japan and the Nikkei traditions of Peru. Head chef Will Fung has crafted a menu unique to the cherry blossom festival, available until April 11. Guests can try the dewazakura oka “cherry bouquet”, a cocktail containing sake and hints of floral and peach. Or, try a sweet dish of dorayaki ice cream sando ( Japanese style pancake, hojicha ice cream and rose water whipped cream).

Celebrate the cherry blossoms with Hamilton Hotel’s ‘Hanami at Hamilton’ package, in honor of the Japanese tradition of picnicking under the blossoms as they bloom. The package includes a curated picnic basket for three to four people, filled with charcuterie, cheese and wine. The hotel is near the National Mall which makes it easy to explore museums and picnic under the cherry blossoms.

The special comes complete with a menu of tea sandwiches, pastries, a variety of teas, and even a hot chocolate option for kids. Bring the whole family for this upscale and memorable affair! With a limited-time menu to honor the cherry blossoms, try the sake sangria (Tokubetsu Honjozo Sake, apple macerate, plum wine and cherry blossom infused maraschino cherries) or the cherry blossom soda. Then, delve into tasty cherry-themed tapas and finish it off with a basque cheesecake with cherry marmalade. This special menu runs until April 18.

In honor of the cherry blossoms blooming, the hotel is hosting afternoon tea dedicated to the occasion on Thursday through Sunday, from March 17 to April 17. Available all spring, try the cherry blossom latte from Piccolina. It combines the cafe’s classic creamy latte with a dash of cherry vanilla syrup. Also special, the cafe is selling Ukrainian flag cookies and donating 100 percent of the proceeds to World Central Kitchen for their humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Moldova, and Hungary. Special for the blossoms, the restaurant is offering a wild cherry valrhona that comprises chocolate pudding, flor di latte ice cream, Sercarz wild cherry spice, red fruit compote and chocolate crumble.
