Meet Chelsea Bristow, The COO of NovaSculpting
What first sparked your interest in the industry?
The technology and the ability to help others. The science behind our body contouring technology and the advancements in the non-invasive fat reduction industry over the past decade are really incredible. We saw a great opportunity to deliver this technology with unsurpassed client service and outcomes. That’s how Seize the Freeze was born!
What about your work continues to inspire you?
My patients and the stories they share. Many don’t know how vulnerable this process can be. I know it takes a lot for my clients to not only open up but to share their deepest insecurities with a complete stranger. There’s not a day I take that for granted. I give them 100% of me every single day, because that’s what I know they need and deserve. It’s very powerful to see them not only transform physically, but mentally as well.
What is most important for a female leader to remember?
The power of authenticity. When I first opened, I received a lot of feedback of what I should and shouldn’t be doing. While I appreciated their guidance, I knew I had something new and unique to bring to the table. When your brand is authentic, it is true to its mission and purpose. Every day my patients see my real, raw, genuine self. There’s no act. It’s helped me develop a whole new sense of confidence and clarity which ultimately led to the success of the studio.
Defining characteristics that led to success?
My confidence, ability to connect with others and my resilience. I’ve run into plenty of obstacles opening my first business, but I’ve never doubted in my ability to figure it out. I always do.
How do you support other women in your business?
I give my patients life-changing results and cheer them on every step of the way. Giving them a new level of confidence gives me purpose. I’m also always finding ways to help other women in the industry. I promote them in any way that I can. I even support my own competition in the area and am happy to give my advice when asked. Many get confused by that, but I truly believe there’s enough room for everyone at the table. I want everyone to win. We’d all take our success to the next level if we learned to support one another.
Best advice you’ve ever received?
Remember who you are.
What’s next?
NovaSculpting #2! We are currently expanding out West and will be making the announcement about the new location soon. Even though we are thrilled for the next, this is only the beginning. We have plans for many more locations in the future.
I just want to remind all of the entrepreneurs out there that you can demonstrate strength through kindness. You don’t have to be loud, bossy or intimidating to be a leader. People will still respect you. In fact, they’ll probably respect you more. My mentors who have taught me everything there is to know about leadership are not only some of the most successful people I’ve ever met, but also some of the nicest. I think that’s extremely powerful.
