A couple new to the DC area gets a gorgeous design boost for their living room.
Dennese Guadeloupe Rojas, the founder of Interiors by Design (interiorsbydesignmd.com), recently helped a couple from Richmond create the style for their new home in Ashton, Md. “I worked closely with them to design a space that mirrored their personality and provided a feeling of coziness and a clear vision for the future,” says Rojas, who broke down the living room’s elements for us.
1. CHAIRS “The custom-designed occasional chairs from Fairfield Chair (fairfieldchair. com) were used to anchor the space and featured a stunning pearlescent velvet from Fabricut (fabricut.com).”
2. DRAPERY “We wanted to maintain a feeling of softness and luxury, incorporating a sheer printed fabric from Kravet (kravet.com) to enhance the room’s ambiance.”
3. MIRROR “The discs surrounding the Arteriors (arteriorshome. com) mirror are unique and hand-cut iron with an oxidized finish technique. We’ve seen this showstopping piece a few times at tradeshows and wanted to use this for one of our clients!”
4. RUG “This simple unstated rug from Exquisite Rugs (exquisiterugs.com) is wool and bamboo silk. Selecting a monochromatic grounding element of the room allowed the other pieces to speak for themselves.”
5. COFFEE TABLE “This cork-surfaced drum table from Sherrill Occasional (sherrill-occasional.com) features a stunning metallic bronze finish and a metal edge band in a Champagne gold finish. The table is topped with clear glass to protect the cork surface.”
