Ho Yeon Jung for Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton has tapped Ho Yeon Jung as its newest global maison ambassador for fashion, watches and jewelry.
“It is an honor to start my acting career with Louis Vuitton, the brand I have modeled for. I look forward to all the moments with Louis Vuitton as a global ambassador,” Jung said.
The announcement comes just after Louis Vuitton debuted its Spring 2022 ready-to-wear collection in Paris.
Recently, Jung has taken the world by storm as Kang Sae-byeok in Netflix’s hit series Squid Game. The show is so popular that it has resulted in South Korea’s wom as one of the most Googled currencies in the world and fans have grown the cast’s' social media pages by millions.
Squid Game has captured audiences around the world with it’s whimsical but dark storyline. Released on Sep. 17, the show is already on track to become the most watched show in any language on Netflix. In it, Kang Sae-byeok, along with hundreds of other contestants, gather for a chance to win billions by competing in conventionally easy games they played as children. They all are given equal opportunities to change the trajectory of their lives and get out of debt. However, the stakes are deadly.
Jung’s striking beauty perfectly contrasts with her abrasive character, making it no surprise that she is again partnering with Louis Vuitton. Jung first made her debut on the Louis Vuitton runway for its Spring-Summer 2017 collection and later returned for other fashion shows and its pre-fall 2017 ready-to-wear campaign. After winning the Asian Star Award at the 2019 Asian Model Awards, the South Korean actress would go on to talk for a number of global fashion brands.
Things are coming full circle for the actress as she takes on this new role with the French fashion house as the perfect embodiment of the independent Louis Vuitton woman.
