Everyone in DC adores Angie Goff. The Seoul, Korea-born news doyenne is now with Fox 5 (fox5dc.com) as co-anchor of 5 at 4pm and co-host of the new Like It or Not, focusing on pop culture and trending stories. She’s also creator and host of weekly podcast The Oh My Goff Show. And Goff’s loving all of it. “This gig rocks,” she says. “The unpredictability of L.I.O.N. (as we like to call it) is the best part.” The schedule is supreme too. “I love... seeing my [three] children in the morning. There is no better way to begin the day.” A pause. “On second thought, maybe coffee first, then kids.” Here, what else she likes.
Who is your favorite designer for sporting on-screen? I wear a lot of Kate Spade. The cuts and prints are always fun and sometimes quirky. I love clothes that tell a story. Recently, I got a dress with a bunch of matches on [it]. Who knew?
What’s the greatest story ever told? The Wizard of Oz (1939 film): I watched it every single day for many years. It has magic, drama, friendship and the ability to transport you into another world.
Who is your role model? Dolly Parton because everything in life can be answered simply by asking: WWDD? The woman is amazing. She IS the Dolly Lama. Period.
If you could be anything else, what would you be? A narwhal. They are as close as I can get to being a unicorn, right?
In the manner of Like It or Not… Biggest like: COSTUMES! Biggest dislike: People who leave shopping carts in parking spaces.
