The Darcy at 1515 Rhode Island Avenue, NW has reopened Gerrard Street Kitchen – the Logan Circle hotel’s primary restaurant that offers a nod to London’s eclectic West End neighborhood featuring a curated blend of global cuisines from Japan, Korea and India. Gerrard Street Kitchen underwent a pandemic pause over the last year, which allowed the restaurant to restructure their food and beverage program and culinary team.

New at the helm is the classically trained Executive Chef Bader Ali who arrives to the national capital region from Naples, Florida after serving as Executive Chef for the Naples Grande Resort. He has been in the restaurant business for more than 30 years, presiding over the culinary operations at numerous independent luxury properties. Ali is a graduate of the prestigious Notter School of Confectionary Arts as well as L'Academie de Cuisine and has worked with some of the top DC-area chefs, including the venerable celebrity chef, Michel Richard.
Chef Ali has introduced a new twist to the globally inspired Gerrard Street Kitchen menu with several new dishes that include Salmon Bibimbap, New York Strip, Chicken Tagine, Burrata Salad and a Vegan entree, served in a signature tiffin, featuring Chef Ali’s choice of aromatically spiced seasonal vegetables.

“Gerrard Street Kitchen pays tribute to a variety of international cuisines where the multifaceted flavors of Japan, Morocco, and South Asia join together with British and Indian culinary fare,” says Chef Ali. “Guests have the ability to journey around the globe with authentic tastings of street-style foods at various ports-of-call.”
Gerrard Street Kitchen offers seating for 110 guests in a 2,700-square foot space. The restaurant includes a grand entryway with soaring ceilings, a marble-topped cocktail bar spanning nearly the length of the restaurant, a substantial Sushi/raw bar, an intimate chef’s table enclave, a private dining room for up to 20, a variety of cozy banquets, an opportunity to dine with others at a communal table, and an outdoor patio warmed by fire pits in the cooler months. Gerrard Street Kitchen’s décor is a nod to the literary clubs and jazz hangouts of early 20th century London.
