Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown’s new Courtyard Bar is now open.
The bar is situated in the center of the hotel’s courtyard garden. A retractable canopy provides cover, when needed, over the lengthy bar and seating area in front of a soothing water fountain. Toasty fire pits, heaters and magical lighting add to the ambiance in the urban oasis.
Featured bubbles include several varieties of sparkling wines and gin, including Fairmont’s own gin…working with One Eight Distilling located in D.C.’s Ivy City neighborhood to create Untitled Gin No. 6. Fairmont’s Executive Pastry Chef A.J. Thalakkat blended the flavors for the gin, which includes juniper, apple, orange, hibiscus, rosehip, roses, cornflower and calendula petal.
Botanicals such as lavender, rosemary and lemon thyme, grown in surrounding planters, will garish the cocktails. Throughout out the courtyard, well established landscaping including herbs, flowers and cherry trees abound.
A special menu collaboration by the hotel’s Executive Chef Jordi Gallardo and Executive Pasty Chef A.J. Thalakkat pairs caviar, a raw bar, seafood tower, mac ‘n cheese, fried chicken, foie gras and Fairmont’s signature chocolate with the bubbly cocktail offerings.
Heaters and toasty fire pits keep all guests cozy and warm.
The Courtyard Bar is open daily from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 2 pm until 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and is available for receptions and private events. Saturday and Sunday Brunch is served from 11 am until 2pm.
