Dear Annabelle collaborates with Riggs Washington, DC, on new ways to share the perfect sentiment on paper.
Versatile note cards.
Marci Pantzer admits she has a thing for paper. As an economics major at Duke, her thoughts and collections often drifted toward stationery books. “My mom sold stationery when I was a child, so I’ve always been around these beautiful ways to share thoughts,” says Pantzer, who, while working at Ralph Lauren earlier in her career, even collected Hello Kitty stickers.
The latest colleciton features a collaboration with Jacu Strauss, the creative director at the Lore Group
Several years ago, during one of those career moments that screamed for change, she launched Dear Annabelle (dearannabelle.com), which creates luxury stationery, notepads, place cards and more. She named the New York City-based company after her daughter.

Pantzer says she’s excited about a new collaboration with Riggs Washington, DC (riggsdc.com) on place cards offered as upgrades to hotel events and at retail. Jacu Strauss (@jacustrauss), the creative director at the Lore Group (loregroup.com), the hospitality engine behind Riggs, helped create the whimsical new collection. The gold-edged place cards feature motifs for entertaining at the hotel, including a Champagne tower, teacup, flower (a nod to Cafe Riggs’ large-scale paper flower installation) and cocktail.
Annabelle’s collection is a mix of whimsy and tradition, with exceptional design
Riggs will also partner with former White House calligrapher Pat Blair as its Calligrapher in Residence. Blair will provide her expertise for events hosted at the hotel, offering personalized place cards, custom menus and more. Look for Blair to lead calligraphy classes at the hotel later this year. In the meantime, here’s to brushing up on our collective penmanship this summer.
