Step into a floral paradise right in the heart and hustle of Georgetown with Chandon Sparkling Winery’s Secret Garden DC pop-up event, in town from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12.
The immersive, incredibly-Instagrammable garden experience is arriving in DC in celebration of Chandon’s newly launched Garden Spritz ready-to-drink sparkling aperitif. In the garden, guests 21 years of age and older are invited to sip on the luxury aperitif as they stroll through the detailed garden space and snap pictures and videos along the way.
Shades of bright orange, verdant greens, and ample whimsical rooftop plantings create a gorgeous garden backdrop for an adorable squad snap, a memorable picture with your honey, or a color-coordinated outfit of the day photo. The bountiful floral garden will make you forget you’re in the city and transport you to the classic orangeries of England.
Guests will also be invited to create their own custom scent spray using five essential oils that heavily influence the Garden Spritz aperitif flavor and represent the five ingredients used to create the aperitif. Take it home, give it a spray and sink into the summery floral aroma.
Garden Spritz is crafted using housemade ‘garden liquor’ handcrafted in Argentina by Chandon’s winemaking team. All of its ingredients are sourced locally in Argentina and include Valencia oranges, macerated orange peels, Amargo bitters, chamomile for a floral taste, cardamom for an herbal essence, and black peppers. The aperitif blends bubbles, bitters, and botanical notes to create a fresh and fruity sparkling wine.
Chandon describes the tasting notes as having a “spicy character with zesty yet rich orange flavors. Nice citric tension which balances the subtle sweetness,” according to their website.
The aperitif pairs exceptionally well with spicy Asian foods, sashimi and sushi. It is also a fresh pairing for a charcuterie board. The blend pairs well with aged cheddar, dried exotic fruits and a variety of nuts, according to Chandon.
To visit Chandon’s Secret Garden experience, reserve your ticket through their website. Guests will be able to visit the garden without advanced tickets, but will have to register for a free ticket on-site.
Chandon’s Secret Garden will be open 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12. 2904 M St. NW, Washington, DC 20007.
