Take in The Waves From This Shoreside Home in Bethany Beach

The 7,650-square-foot home in North Bethany Beach was built by Marnie Oursler.
Walking the shore of Bethany Beach, particularly in the long, private stretches of Sussex Shores and beyond, one notices the stand of the lovely, big-shouldered homes with pools, decks and private boardwalks snaking through the dunes. But the views from inside these gems likely don’t match what builder Marnie Oursler (marniehomes.com) has recently created, along with Sea Studio Architects (seagreenstudio.com), in North Bethany. Oursler, the host of DIY Network’s Big Beach Builds and HGTV Dream Home 2018, ensured the homeowners and their guests would never forget their idyllic location. The 7,650-square-foot home, dubbed Surfside, features a clean, open design with direct sightlines to the Atlantic, thanks to a floating staircase. Other laudable features include a two-story fireplace in the living room, double kitchen islands to accommodate large gatherings, wall-to-wall windows in the master bedroom with en suite bath featuring floor-to-ceiling porcelain and a double-slipper tub—glass doors lead to an outdoor deck, naturally. Automatic blinds were installed for privacy, but on nights when moonrise beckons, inviting Mother Nature to the party is expected.
