1039 31st Street NW / Website
This swanky French restaurant is perfect after a day of shopping the streets of Georgetown. Located conveniently in the adorable neighborhood, enjoy a fabulous weekend brunch, weekend happy hours, and a sophisticated yet approachable dinner menu. The restaurant plans to close from Jan. 1, 2023, until early spring in order to renovate the space, so mark your calendar to try this hot spot in the spring, if you haven’t already.

Located in the always fun neighborhood of Navy Yard, this Michelin Guide restaurant is known for its eclectic menu showcasing chef Haidar Karoum’s worldwide travels. The popular restaurant is open for dinner all week with a diverse yet reasonably priced dinner and drinks menu. On the weekends, enjoy a special brunch menu with an equally exciting beverage list, featuring far more than the standard mimosas.
300 7th Street SE / Website
Inspired by the farm fresh foods of California and New England, this New American restaurant is stocked with women-owned, fine wines and has an ever-changing, seasonal tasting menu. Enjoy a variety of Parker House rolls, sustainably sourced proteins from both the land and the sea, and a pastry-chef-cultivated dessert menu. It’s a great spot to try new wines, cocktails, beers and wine.

Head to this Dupont Circle spot for small plates crafted with only the freshest local ingredients. The classy spot has been in DC for just over a year but has already made a splash with its Insta-worthy platings, luxurious all-day menu with features like duck confit and black truffle agnolotti, and lengthy brunch menu.
1280 4th Street NE / Website
Head to the tasty Union Market District to experience this luxe Colombian restaurant. With one Michelin Star under its belt, this experiential dining hotspot is known for its extravagant multi-course tasting menu. Guests are guided through a dining “experience” that features 22 courses aimed to completely transport guests through Colombia’s many unique flavors. Foodies, you simply must try it!
818 Connecticut Avenue NW / Website
Enjoy seasonal and hyper-locally harvested ingredients in cuisine from five-time James Beard Award nominee, chef Todd Gray. The restaurant is a sustainability-focused staple of the Mid-Atlantic and perhaps the best way to familiarize yourself with the farm-to-table possibilities of the region. For a luxe fine dining experience, try the restaurant’s entirely plant-based tasting menu, or nosh on their five-course market tasting menu with optional wine pairings available for both.

For an artful fine dining menu served in an equally artistic setting, Kinship is the place to be. The menu is divided into four sections of divine creations. Our favorite, naturally, is the Indulgence section which features Kaviari Prestige osetra caviar on homemade Yumon potato chips, as well as duck foie gras, perfect for our luxury tastes. It’s a fabulous spot to experience a variety of both new and aged wines.

This glitzy, colorfully-designed space will set you in the mood for an equally lavish modern French meal. Artful platings and well-made French classics make this spot a romantic date night spot or a lavish spot for your next private event.

Recently crowned one of the top 50 Italian restaurants in the entire world, this spot is a must-visit. Head to this Union Market District spot for an ever-changing menu of fresh Italian staples, as well as an elegant six-course tasting menu. Helmed by chef Nicholas Stefanelli, who also runs Officina and Philotimo, this is a great spot to impress a date.

Head to one Michelin Starred Maydan for a celebrated prix fixe menu. Their cooking techniques and attention to detail thoroughly impressed the Michelin Guide, and we couldn’t agree more. Nosh on homemade hummus, muhammara, halloumi, ribeye, lamb shoulder, and all the tasty condiments to enhance any Middle Eastern feast. Then, let Maydan’s sommeliers take you on a journey with an everchanging, curated wine pairing menu.

We all love Rasika, including Angelina Jolie, visiting ambassadors, presidents, and well, us here at Modern Luxury! A part of the Michelin Guide, this modern Indian restaurant is celebrated for its high-quality cuisine and lengthy fine dining menu. Get a grand taste of what Rasika can create with their four-course tasting menu, with optional curated wine pairings, and the six-course tasting menu with wine pairings at the chef’s table. But, before you make your reservations, be aware this isn’t a kid-friendly restaurant, so get a sitter for the night.

Whether you head in for cocktails, coffee, brunch, or a healthy dinner, Royal has a lot to explore. There’s chill energy at this Michelin Guide pick which features Latin American cuisine like empanadas and a variety of arepas, available all day. Happy Hour runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and includes stellar deals like $9 cocktails, $5 Dogfish Head beer, and $10 grilled avocados. This spot is great for your picky eater friends, as there is truly something for everyone, and at a reasonable price.
