What inspired you to launch The Auction Curators?
My partner and I have supported global charities for more than 20 years. A few years ago, I participated in several online auctions that benefited global charities, and I found that hardly anyone participated. After the pandemic, charities routinely held online silent auctions alongside their annual fundraising efforts and events. But they don’t often do enough to market them to supporters, so we [sprung into action].
What’s your elevator speech for The Auction Curators?
It curates exclusive, hard-to-find luxury travel auctions outside major platforms, offering less competition to its members and, as a result, saving its members thousands of dollars. This exclusive catalog is only available to members. Proceeds from these auctions create a powerful win-win situation for both members and organizations. It embodies our philosophy: Go far, give back. The bottom line is that we want charities to raise more money through their online events.
How do charities benefit from your platform?
We offer our free platform to charities to help maximize impact and achieve common goals. Our partnership model is built to help charities amplify their impact and attract a wider audience of philanthropic individuals seeking to make a difference.
What charities have you helped recently?
In the past month, we’ve featured auctions from Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (alexslemonade.org) Los Angeles Gala and Kids Beating Cancer (kidsbeatingcancer.com) Hats and Heroes Ball in Palm Beach, among others.
What’s next?
We’re planning to introduce new curation categories, such as wine, art, sports and fashion, to enhance the value for members and the positive impact on communities worldwide.
