From the French Embassy’s Toussaint Ball to a scavenger hunt in a 100-room mansion, there’s an abundance of fun and frights to be had in D.C. this Halloween. Here are six events that are sure to leave you prickled with goosebumps—all while being socially distanced, of course.

Fall Harvest Festival
After leading the Continental Army to victory, George Washington spent much of his leisure time cultivating over 3,000 acres of farmland in Virginia. This autumn, visitors are welcomed to explore his former Pioneer Farm, learn about Washington’s fisheries, observe wool spinning demonstrations and dye textiles with 18th century techniques. Halloween Hunt at the Mansion on O
This structural masterpiece was constructed in 1892 by Edward Clark (the designer behind the Capitol Building); however, the mansion is now a boutique hotel that throws some of the most lavish parties in D.C. Grief and Ghost Tours by Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden
Did you know Victorian women were expected to remain in deep mourning for two years after their husbands’ death? Learn more about 19th century mourning traditions, such as draping mirrors, hair jewelry and ornate clothing, at this ghastly tour of the historic Lee-Fendall House. Toussaint Ball at the Embassy of France
In France, the dead are celebrated on All Saints Day, known as La Toussaint, which traditionally occurs Nov. 1. Here, we celebrate a little earlier. Join witches, ghouls and French Ambassadors alike on Oct. 31 for the annual Toussaint Ball. VIP guests are invited to enjoy a seated dinner at 7 p.m., early admission and an open champagne reception. Salmon fillet, chicken forestière and charcuterie are on the menu. Oatlands Afternoon Tea by Pure Perfection Catering
Built in 1804, the Oatlands Historic House flaunts Greek Revival architecture while overlooking a 4-acre English terraced garden adorned with a rose garden, statuary and reflecting pool.
