Some 700 brightly dressed guests will alight upon the Washington National Cathedral for Fair Chance’s annual Butterfly Bash. Set for Oct. 19 at 7PM, the evening will raise funds for the organization’s efforts to aid community-based nonprofits in their work to support underserved children and youth. A testament to its efforts: Since 2002, Fair Chance has reached 80,000 kids, young people and families in DC. Highlights of this year’s soiree include a program led by NBC4 morning news anchor Eun Yang—a DC magazine Trendsetter—along with live music, dancing, cocktails and appetizers. Most importantly, however, former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez will be honored for his philanthropic endeavors. He co-founded TheDream.US—high-flying, indeed. Young patron tickets (under age 35) $125, general tickets $225, VIP tickets $275, sponsorships $2,500-$25,000
